MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS’ MEETING OF April 2, 2026
Current Board Members-
North Berwick- Lauren Janousek, Kate Whalen, Joshua Tabor
Berwick- Alison Herlihy, Marissa Tasker, Peg Wheeler
Lebanon- Nancy Sewell, Jeridene Basko, Melissa Cyr

A meeting of the Board of Directors was held in person at Noble Middle and High School on April 2, 2026 at 7:00 pm with all members attending in person except Ms. Herlihy and Ms. Cyr who were remote.
There were 28 in the audience.
Pledge of Allegiance
Ms. Wheeler read the public input statement.
Public Input:
The following people spoke in public input in the first session:

Ms. Joyce Tabor, North Berwick
Ms. Lauren Janousek reading for Ms. Audrey Paskowski, North Berwick
Minutes:
Ms. Wheeler made the motion and it was seconded by Ms. Tasker to accept the minutes of March 19, 2026 as amended. All members voted in favor and the motion passed.
Ms. Janousek made the motion and it was seconded by Ms. Basko to accept the minutes of March 24, 2026. All members voted in favor except Ms. Wheeler who abstained and the motion passed.
Ms. Basko made the motion and it was seconded by Ms. Wheeler to accept the minutes of March 26, 2026. All members voted in favor and the motion passed.
Adoption of the FY 27 District Budget
The board then was given the most up to date version of the proposed FY 27 budget for their review and approval.
Mrs. Wheeler made the motion and it was a seconded by Ms. Tasker to approve the FY 27 school budget of $51,999,009.00 with the local share of $28,380,183.00. All members voted in favor except Ms. Cyr, Mr. Tabor, Ms. Basko and Ms. Sewell and the motion passed.
Ms. Wheeler made the motion and it was seconded by Ms. Tasker to approve the FY 27 Adult Education Budget of $334,884.00 with a local share of $175,000.00. All members voted in favor and the motion passed.
Ms. Wheeler made the motion and it was seconded by Ms. Tasker to approve the FY 27 School Nutrition Budget of $2,467,623.00 with a local share of $175,000.00 All members voted in favor and the motion passed.
Policy Second Reading:
JICK-Bullying
Ms. Wheeler made the motion and it was seconded by Ms. Tasker to approve JICK as rewritten and amended. All members voted in favor and the motion passed.
Policy First Reading:
JICK-E1 Bullying Reporting Form
JICK-E2 Bullying Bullying Investigation and Response Form
JICK-R Bullying Administrative Procedures
Graphic Conflict vs Bullying
This was considered to be a first reading.

None at this time.
Superintendent Update:
Conversation about next meetings.
Other:
Ms. Nancy Sewell asked the board about an email regarding public comment acknowledgement protocol. She would like us to consider this as a protocol not as a policy. We will work on this in the near future.
PSATs and Science Fair excellence.
Ms. Basko would like more individual acknowledgement of the students and athletes when they are presented.

Ms. Janousek made the motion and it was seconded by Ms. Basko to adjourn. All members voted in favor and the motion passed. Out at 8:23 pm.
