ESEA FUNDING

MSAD 60 receives federal funding through the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) of 1965. This funding supports equitable access to high-quality education.

Title I, Improving the academic achievement of the disadvantaged: Title I, Part A programs and services provide targeted instruction to improve student achievement and help all students meet academic standards. Funds will be used to support the salaries & benefits of Teachers and or Educational Technicians at the Hanson School under their Schoolwide TI plan. Required SAU-level set-asides are portions of Title IA funds reserved to support specific required services, including support for homeless and foster care students and parent and family engagement.

Title II, Preparing, Training, and Recruiting High-Quality Teachers and Principals:  Funds will partially support the Director of Teaching and Learning position, which provides leadership and oversight in coordinating district-wide training, supporting instructional initiatives, and strengthening teaching practices. This role also supports staff recruitment, onboarding, induction, and retention.

Title III, Part A: Language Instruction for English Learners and Immigrant Students: If awarded, funds will be used to partially fund one of our Multilingual Learner Teachers.

Title IV, Part A: Student Support and Academic Enrichment (SSAE): Funds are transferred to Title IA to further support academic achievement.

Title V, Part B: Rural Education Initiative: Funds will be used to support a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor at NMHS.
