Community Letter 12.15.21

December 15, 2021

Good Evening,

As our district looks ahead to the next four school days prior to December break, we ask for a strong and concerted effort on everyone’s part to help us keep positive COVID cases and close contacts to a minimum. A number of families are looking forward to holiday events and gatherings during these next few weeks. As we approach the weekend, and next Monday and Tuesday, we ask that you monitor your students each and every day for symptoms of illness and keep them home from school if they are experiencing symptoms. We also ask that students remain home if they are awaiting results of a COVID test or if anyone at home is awaiting results of a COVID test.

Families have done a tremendous job quarantining students and adhering to guidelines put forward by the Maine CDC and Department of Health and Human Services. We recognize that it has not been easy for many families to shift schedules once a student is identified as a close contact and we would like to minimize that experience as much as possible especially during this time of the year.

It takes vigilance, daily conversations with your student about how they are feeling prior to leaving for school in the morning, and a plan should a student need to stay home. Those three practices will go a long way to help keep close contacts and those with positive COVID cases to a minimum.

We greatly appreciate your assistance.

Sincerely,

Audra Beauvais
