Elementary Schools Update May 8, 2021

May 8, 2021

Good Afternoon,

This notification contains information for families with students in Kindergarten through fifth grade. Earlier this week, we sent a letter to you explaining that we were exploring the feasibility of increasing the elementary student day. This effort was in keeping with the District’s goal of bringing students back to as much in-person learning as possible We indicated that we would keep everyone up to date if a plan actually became possible and able to be implemented.

Unfortunately, we learned that many of you received some partial information from students or by other means regarding what we were exploring. That was unfortunate and we are sorry it occurred as our effort all year has been to communicate all information to you in a timely and accurate manner. In that regard, we hope that this communication will clarify the situation by providing clear and accurate information to everyone.

Based on many factors, including the amount of the time remaining in the school year and the impact on all schedules, we have concluded that the current elementary schedule will not change and will remain as it is for the remainder of the school year.

We want you to know that our goal, as a District, is to fully open K-12 in-person learning this fall. More communication in this regard will be forthcoming.

As always, thank you for your support.
