MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS’ MEETING OF March 5, 2026

 

Current Board Members- 

        North Berwick-  Lauren Janousek, Kate Whalen, Joshua Tabor

                           Berwick- Alison Herlihy, Marissa Tasker, Peg Wheeler

                           Lebanon- Nancy Sewell, Jeridene Basko, Melissa Cyr 


Executive Session Pursuant to 1 M.R.S.A §405(6)(B) Expulsion of Student

Mr. Tabor made the motion and it was seconded by Ms. Janousek to go into an executive session pursuant to  1M.R.S.A§405(6)(B) Expulsion of Student. All members voted in favor and the motion passed. In at 5:01. Out at 5:49 pm. 


Ms. Cyr  made the motion and it was seconded by Ms. Tasker  to expel the student under consideration. All members voted in favor and the motion passed.

Facilities Meeting at 6:00 pm.


A meeting of the Board of Directors was held in person at Noble Middle and High School on March 5, 2026 at 7:06 pm with all members attending. 


There were 45 plus in the audience. 


Pledge of Allegiance


Ms. Wheeler read the public input statement. 


Public Input: 

The following people spoke in public input in the first session:

Shawn Higgins, Berwick


Minutes: 

Ms. Cyr made the motion and it was seconded by Ms. Herlihy to accept the minutes of February 26, 2026.  All members voted in favor, except Ms. Wheeler who abstained  and the motion passed. 


Athletics Recognition- Wrestling Team:

Mr. Aaron Moore, athletic Director along with Mr. Gray, head coach, and Ms. Boucher, head coach of the girls program, shared the following accomplishments:  

Noble Wrestling was able to capture championships at all postseason tournaments this winter. This has never been accomplished before by any school in the state of Maine.


*41-0 against Maine opponents in three years. 

*Four Class A Dual State Championships in six years.


2026 Class A South Regional Champions 

*Qualified 13 wrestlers for the Class A State Championships

113lbs Leo Gray 2nd place

120lbs Brock Nice CHAMPION

126lbs Alex Luedke 2nd place

132lbs Tristen McGilvery 2nd place

138lbs Cam Dennis CHAMPION

144lbs Ayden DeCato 3rd place

150lbs Wyatt Chandler CHAMPION

157lbs Kaidden Robinson CHAMPION

165lbs Brady Ouellette CHAMPION

175lbs Logan Duquette 4th place

190lbs Waylon Morrill (2-2)

215lbs Jacob Provencher 2nd place

285lbs Sean Leach 2nd place


2026 Class A State Champions (This is the 17th Championship in program history at Noble)

*Cam Dennis is the #138 Maine Class A Wrestling State Champion

*Wyatt Chandler is the #150 Maine Class A Wrestling State Champion

*Brady Ouellette became Noble Wrestling’s first ever 4x State Champion! He is the 25th in Maine Wrestling history to accomplish this feat.

*Brady Ouellette won the John Pelletier Outstanding Wrestler Award


2026 MPA Girls State Co-Champions

*Hannah Perro became the FIRST EVER 4X Girls State Champion in Maine Wrestling history. 

*Delaney Frost is the #126 Maine Girls Wrestling State Champion

*Ella Brown #132 Girls Wrestling State Championship: 3rd Place 



Noble sent 7 wrestlers to the New England championships in Rhode Island. 


Delaney Frost placed 3rd in the #126 weight class.

Hannah Perro placed 6th in the #100 weight class.

Brady Ouellette placed 6th in the #165 weight class. 


Budget Presentation:

The Superintendent shared her budget presentation for the upcoming year. 


Employment:

Carol Whitten-Hanson Elementary School Teacher. Thank you for 35 years of employment with MSAD 60. Ms. Cyr made the motion and it was seconded by Ms. Wheeler to approve the retirement resignation of Ms. Whitten with thanks,  congratulations and regrets. All members voted in favor and the motion passed.


Superintendent Update:

Update regarding the ED279 and the meeting in Augusta today regarding potential changes to the formula. 


Other:

Ms. Herlihy asked questions regarding the grading scales across the country rather than just Maine. 


Mr. Tabor asked a question about a recent letter shared with board members from the teachers’ union. 


Ms. Tasker: Shout out to the One Act Team and “Break a Leg!”  One Act Play is this weekend. 


Ms. Janousek just asked our community to lead with kindness. 


May 7th is our District Budget Hearing.

Ms. Janousek made a motion and it was seconded by Ms. Herlihy to adjourn the meeting. All members voted in favor and the motion passed.
