N.oble O.nline L.earning A.cademy - K-5

Greetings Parents of N.O.L.A Students,

Welcome to the 2020-2021 school year! You have registered your child for our Noble Online Learning Academy. Your child’s teacher, or team of teachers, will be in touch next week with more information. For now, here are a few things to keep in mind:

• The remote calendar is consistent with our district hybrid calendar and will follow a similar orientation model during the week of 9/8. Orientation days will run from 9:15-3:15.

9/8 Kindergarten student device pick up (K parents will be contacted to set up a time)

9/10 Will be an online orientation day only for grades 1 & 3

9/11 Will be an online orientation day only for grades K, 2, 4 & 5

9/14 Regular remote schedule begins for all K-5 students

• The remote week will be consistent with the district hybrid schedule:

• Your child’s remote week will include a balance of both synchronous (live with the teacher and other students on Google Hangouts) and asynchronous (work is done independently at the student’s own pace) learning experiences, support from their teacher, collaboration with peers, and morning meetings. The schedule will also include time for snacks, motor breaks, and lunch/recess.

• Internet access - please contact our technology department if you need assistance with internet access - techsupport@msad60.org.

• Find a quiet distraction-free workspace for your child.

• Help your child stay organized.

• Expect your child to attend Google Meet sessions.

• Collaborate and check-in with your child’s teacher as needed.

• Communicate with your child’s teacher if they will be absent.

Be on the lookout for more specific information from your child’s teacher(s) next week including schedules and supplies (supplies will be minimal).
